Problem:
If you are receiving the following prompt from Box Drive, please read through this article to understand the cause and how to resolve it.
This error dialog occurs when the user has a Box Drive database file that was created by a newer version than the one installed.
This is often caused by the app being reinstalled with an older installer (for example, the user installed v2.38 first, uninstalled it, then installed v2.37).
Process for Resolution:
- Quit Box Drive
- Follow the steps for Uninstalling Box Drive (including "To remove all traces of the Box Drive application from your machine" section) to uninstall Box Drive.
- Make sure that C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\Data no longer exists.
- Download the installer of Box Drive from the website and install it.
Outcome:
Once you have uninstalled Box Drive, removed all traces from your machine, and reinstalled Box Drive, you should be able to successfully launch and utilize Box Drive as expected.
