BACKGROUND

PMs sometimes want to know the URL where an article will be published at GA. PMs need to know

this so they can include the article's URL as a link in a Box product.

 

PURPOSE

--------------

Determine whether the URL of a draft article published from Flare to Zendesk is identical to the

URL of the final article published from Flare to Zendesk.

 

PROCEDURE

--------------

1. In Flare, create and publish this article to Zendesk.

2. Copy this article's URL.

3. In Zendesk, un-publish this article.

4. Copy this un-published article's URL.

5. Compare the URL from Step 2 with the URL from Step 4.

6. In Flare, update this article and Save.

7. In Zendesk, re-publish this article.

8. Copy this re-published articles' URL.

9. In Flare, re-publish this article to Zendesk.

10. In Zendesk, determine whether Flare published a second copy of this article, or over-writes the existing copy.

11. If Flare does not publish a second copy of this article in Zendesk, copy the re-published article's URL.

12. Compare the URL from Step 11 to those from Steps 2, 4, and 8.

If in Step 10 Flare publishes a second instance of this article, or if the URLs compared in Step 12 are different,

we are not able to provide ahead of time the URL of the article published at GA.

 

RESULTS

In Step 10, Flare did not publish a second instance of this article.

In Step 12, the article IDs in the URLs are identical: "...360043189574...".

 

CONCLUSION

------------------

When publishing from Flare to Zendesk, by repeating Steps 1, 3, 6, 7, and 9, we can provide a published

article's URL prior to GA.
